Delivering Education to The Golf College

The partnership between The Golf College in Sussex and The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) has created a raft of new opportunities for sporting stars of the future. The move represents an opportunity for talented young golfers to develop their abilities, whilst studying for a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport Performance and Excellence at sites in Cornwall and Sussex.

Director of Health and Well Being across The Cornwall College Group, Lisa Clark, said: “Both organisations are passionate about developing the next generation of sports stars and this was an organic partnership for both of us. The Golf College, which is based at Lindfield Golf Course in West Sussex, has excellent transport links with easy access to Gatwick Airport; which will make it a great choice for learners from around Europe.”

The course enables students to develop theoretical sporting principles whilst having immediate access to the best golfing facilities and coaching. All learners also get an opportunity to play on a course on the Algarve in Portugal during the winter months.

Head of Tournament Golf at Duchy College, Alex Lindsay, said: “Both organisations have a proud history of producing talented young players and this partnership will enable us to work closer together, developing best practice and opening new opportunities.”

Co-Founder of The Golf College, Paul Lyons concluded: “I am extremely pleased that we have secured this new partnership with The Cornwall College Group and I firmly believe that the combination of the level 3 qualification and the new degree will create a fast track into the golf industry.”
