Piers Berrington Congratulations!

Former student Piers Berrington recorded a superb 7 under par round of 66 in the second round of the three round Tour Final of the Gecko Tour to put himself into a winning position going into the third round.

A round of 1 under par in the third round was enough to give Piers the win, tied with Christopher Sahlstrom of Sweden. Piers’ win in the Tour Final followed a highly successful month spent on the tour in January when he won his first two tournaments and gathered enough points in the remaining 4 tournaments that he played to position himself 6th in the overall Order of Merit for the whole season.

Piers attended The Golf College between 2012 and 2015 enlisting for a post graduated year after completing the BTEC course. Joining The Golf College as a 4 handicapper Piers left as a +1 player, notably having won the PGA (Southern Region) Golf College Challenge beating a field of PGA professional from the region.

Piers also represented in the Golf College team at the British Schools & Colleges National Finals at The Dukes St Andrew on the 6/7 May 2015.

The Gecko Tour is in its 8th year as a development tour for aspiring professional and amateur players. This season comprises 20 events, 6 of which will be a 3 day event, and 14 tournaments over 2 days. It remains staunchly committed & faithful to its founding philosophy of providing an affordable and highly competitive tournament experience, hosted on top courses in Spain, to elite amateurs and professional players from across Europe and worldwide during the winter months.
